Keep it going Sean. I gave up on 1st Jan 2000 and never looked back. Smoked 30 a day for the past 20 years and i feel better for trying.
The cravings will be hard at first but they die out fast, I still get them now when i smell smoke, but a second later its gone.. If you get a craving, grab your camera and take a photo of something in your house.
You can call it a “Craving Project”
BMParticipantshutterbugParticipantCongratulations on taking that first step! and here’s to a smoke free future.
Choose something from the camera shop you REALLY want and put all the
money you would have spent on the nasty sticks in a big jar and watch how
quickly you will be able to afford it. :)nfl-fanParticipantDay 2 Sean
I hope you’re going strong.
Ask Cathal for a lend of his new tripod head… assuming he got it… that’ll take your mind of things for a while.

shutterbugParticipantSeaviewParticipantHope all is going well Sean, I’m off the fags a week today and it’s killing me. Who said the first 48 hrs are the hardest. Driving home every night is the hardest part, I never smoked at work so I used to look forward to my smoke going home in the car. For the last week I tell myself I’m doing brilliantly and that in the long run it will benefit me. I see everyone saying to change your lifestyle and not to do things that you associate with smoking, that’s easy to say, I smoked when I was setting up the tripod, I smoked between shot, I smoked while driving to the location, I smoked when I got to the top of the hill when I was hill walking, up on till last Thursday, I would say most things in my life were associated with smoking.
Best of Luck Sean, hope your doing well.
Dave.

Best of luck to both of you – Sean how is it going with you.
Dave, my experience has been that it is different for everyone – just keep focussing on the shorterm, looking too far ahead (without
a smoke) was almost my undoing a couple of times.Keep it up! :D
nfl-fanParticipantIn order to promote PI member health I suggest that the 5-Pie association be exclusive to non-smokers only.
All existing 5-Pie Smokers should be reduced to 4-Pie status, and any 4-Pie members who come knocking on the door should be left outside until they are 6 months clean.
With 5-pie status one of the most sought after achievements in any persons life this sort of incentive could have a huge impact on people’s will to give up the ciggies.
Achieving 5-Pie status ranks up there in my top 3 life moments.

sean1098Membersorry to have to say this………………….but I have lost my will power and am back smoking.

Try the patches Sean, apparently they work.
Pat
SeaviewParticipantSean, I bet you feel much better now. Only kidding, it’s a pity you haven’t stuck it out as I’m sure sooner or later it will get easier. As Pat said there’s always tomorrow.
Dave.
