Old boat

This old girl has become home to a couple of seagulls (I think one is on a nest). Comments welcome.

I think that enough seagull pooh will stop it leaking… :)

Its got a lot of nice distressed textures going on i am sure someone will say “what would it look like in black and white”. :)

That said not too keen on the cropping of the boat and the background sort of intersects/distracts to me but take my advice with a pinch of salt :)

Thanks, Pitmatic. I found that when I cropped to include all of the boat, the gulls got lost a bit. Agree about the background – not ideal but if I changed my pov to reduce the background clutter, I found that the angle of the boat was all wrong. Must try converting to B&W and see how it looks. Appreciate the comments.

    Hi Fergus.
I agree about the cropping of the boat & background being distracting but can understand how the gulls would be lost if you included the whole boat. If space allowed, move back further & use a longer telephoto lens with the aperture open. This way you could include more of the boat & keep the gulls fairly large. It would also help to blur the background.
The boat is a good subject for a re-visit (don’t know if the gulls will co-operate for this though). :D
