Old classic camera repairs in Dublin…

Seems one of my Yashica now does this odd thing where the speed dial changes the aperture as well…(if ya get me…)

Anyone know of anywhere in Dublin that does repairs on ol’ vintage cameras?

    Thanks

The only place I have used is the camera repair shop at Portobello Harbour. I found them a bit expensive and slow.

I’ve used PRS in Portobello Harbour only last week-
I had a shutter repaired and calibrated,
and a broken X socket replaced.

The service was fast, courteous and professional.

    The cost, while not cheap,
was in line with what I would expect to pay for a similar repair in London.

    Every repair will be different,
but I would have no hesitation in bringing any type of photographic equipment in for attention.

I’m sure it can seem a bit over the odds if a repair is many times the value of the equipment,
but that is the nature of the market,
and maybe sometimes it would be cheaper to replace an old junker,
    rather than repair it.

This stuff comes up all the time at charity shops and car boot sales,
and it is only at the rarified end of the market
that any real value can be given to vintage equipment.

Just thought this thread needed some balance-

Well I used to work in Express Camera Repairs over the old Camera Shop in Gardiner Street, they did loads of old cameras, not sure if they are still there though….
