Old timer gets new strings….
-
carlParticipant
I was visiting the parents this weekend and when I walked into the house I found my Dad changing (just about finished) the strings on his guitar. He bought this guitar when it was about 2 or 3 years old and has been with him for over 40 years. He is talking about selling sometime in the near future so I thought it would be a fitting tribute to post this short series, of this old timer (the guitar I mean :D ) getting a set of new teeth!
All taken with a 5D and 50mm f2
wexkel11MemberHi Carl,
I like the shots of the old Richenbacker guitar. Brings back memories to me. I have an ancient Stratocaster which I get out for an airing every so often. Unfortunately the house is evacuated with undue hast when it happens. A colleague once claimed that if I was hung for being a guitar player, I’d die innocent. Thanks for bringing a smile to meMike :D :D :D
jb7ParticipantMarkKeymasterVery nice Carl. I have a really nice Les Paul which I can’t play at all  (last purchase before I got married ;) ).
You’ve given me some inspiration to take some shots of it.
Thanks

Thats hilarious!
J,
If only I could play!
I think the music gene skips a generation. :lol:Mark,
A Les Paul is exactly what he is thinking of buying! My sister lives near Nashville so he might be taking a trip out there soon to sell it. It comes with its original case except the handle of the case fell off and was replaced with a VW minibus door handle. :lol:ExpresbroParticipantWoah!! Your dad has a Richenbacker..cool!! Guitar of choice for all the old Mod bands. John Lennon played one too.
Nice shots Carl..and if he’s gonna sell..timely as well.
RobMemberLovely shots, nice and moody. Always like the old Ricks, but give
me a 335 any day. Must post up some shots of my ‘tools’, including
a 1962 LP Custom. Beaut!Rob.
