Olympus OM-10

irishshaguaParticipant
Hey
A relation of mine is retired in Spain now and he was just home there the last week and showed me a camera he’d gotten in an auction. Its an Olympus OM10 with a T20 Flash. Picked it up for 20 euro in the auction. Seems a very good price to me but then again I know SFA about film cameras (tut tut come the hisses from the crowd  ).
Anyways if anyone has any information about the camera, or a link to a good review of it, could they post. I just want to find out if its a good deal and good camera. He’s never really takes much phots but has nothing bu tme on his hands now…..
Cheers
BriancathaldParticipantI’m keeping an eye on one of these myself on ebay and he got it for good price
If he dont like it I’ll give him €20 for it  :lol:here is a link to a review

StevieParticipantI’ve got one! (An OM10) There’s a PDF manual online somewhere. I’ll post a link if I ever find it again!
StevieParticipantAs an add on to my last post (and I don’t want to seem contentious – it’s my age!), but to me the Olympus always seems to be synonymous with David Bailey. I remember the adverts in Amateur Photographer as a kid – David Bailey and his Olympus Trip, although I bet he really used an Olympus OM1.
A lot later I got an OM10 – and it is good. Lots of good lenses and accessories at a good price, and to be honest I feel I have a lot more control over photographs with the film camera than the D40.
But I do like the immediacy with digital.
But I ramble and digress! SorryEDIT – http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/Oly_OM10.pdf
In those days – Canon was for the hobbyist.
thedarkroomParticipantThe OM10 is a good camera with aperture priority only. However, if he’s lucky, he might also have got with it the small manual adapter which clipped onto the camera below the viewfinder and beside the lens. This is a handy little gadget with a shutter speed dial which allowed the camera to be used in manual mode. They are very rare but worth looking out for as it allows more flexibility. An excellent find nonetheless at €20.
DakyParticipantFirst camera I ever used (and still use an OM1n for film, which is completely manual). Started without the manual adapter on the OM10 but as I progressed found it useful, but exposure adjustments can always be made by adjusting the compensation settings. I think that your friend has picked up a good bargain.
