On The Street’s (Part2)

Hairy GusParticipant
Hi All, again
I am really interested in reading your opinion so Pleas view and critique I would appreciate some honest feedback, as I am only new to photography, I am currently using a canon 450d with a canon 50mm f2.5 compact macro lens, I also have the kit lens that I don’t use much. I know the macro lens is not ideal for street photography, (but beggers and choosers) I bought camera second hand and the lens came with it. Any advice welcome…

davedunneParticipantI like the first 3 here with the shadows one being the best.
I don’t find the subject matter interesting in the last 2 although it’s is possible something could have happened in the wig shot eventually if you had the time to wait.
Hairy GusParticipantHi All
Dave tanks again for words of wisdom, normally I don’t have a lot of time to fine tune my settings so often i just shoot and hope for the best (I’am hoping this will improve tn time). All though I had a good spot to shoot from near the wig shop but I lost the bottle once I was spotted and moved on, (this also I hope will improve with time) Hay it all keeps life interesting…Thanks for viewing
connieParticipantIt will definately improve with time Hairy Gus. From what I have read street photography is one of the hardest forms to master, so you are doing not bad. You have very good focus on the subjects and I do like the shadow one. I also agree the wig shop could have been better if you waited, but like you I still have not mastered the nerves game of waiting around lol. As you have a macro lense, try out some macro shots in and around the home to get a feel for it. Read lots, boring but it is working for me :) Your kit lense is a good one to start you off, so don’t be too quick to disregard it. I know it is not as sharp as most but it does have a decent range to get you going when you are out and about. Look forward to seeing more
Connie xrobmgraMemberHairy GusParticipantAs requested Rob. Works better then I thought It would. Thanks
BW Swiss Army Knife by HairyGus, on FlickrwirepicParticipantI actually like Shadow Land in colour. That golden hue works quite well I think. B & W should help the first shot. The bus and the woman in the red coat wouldn’t stand out as much which should focus more attention on the guy in focus.
hotjohn01ParticipantI like the 1st one, it kind of singles out one mans individual day in a buzzing city
Hairy GusParticipantHi All.
Thanks Fergus, did try it Shadow Land in B&W but it just didn’t work, I felt it softened the image and lost it’s intimacy. Thats the joys of photography we ALL have our own ways at looking at this truly wonderful world.John K Thanks for viewing and commenting I am glad you enjoyed the image.
And To All Thanks For Viewing…
