    FEC – Flash Exposure Compensation

Do you guys not use Google?? Probably not worth a FEC to you…

Just you wait till the next time your composing a shot with the main subject in the centre and out of the blue you get a karate chop to your upper vertebrae…

Alan, while you were busy googling, internationally, by the sound of it, you missed the official Irish interpretation of FEC-
I’d go along with Cian, sound advice there-
seems just as plausible as anything else-

Ah right – before I read the manual, read the thread. Funny though, I thought Goodle was international by default JB?

My camera has the facility for Flash Exposure Compensation. Never used it mind (the FEC, not the camera…clarified because there’s some sharp eyed literary analysts around lately)…but it’s nice to know it has a 3-letter acronym.

    1. Get rid of that Canon/Nikon strap and greatly reduce your chances of being mugged.
    2. Take that risky shot. It’ll be scary for a fractionof a second, but will be with you for ages.
    3. Get a nifty-fifty.
    4. Hang around when taking that lanscape picture – the clouds and sun will move and make a different picture in seconds.
    5. Unusual shots are the ones that stand out!

One of my tutors in college says this all the time…

“the difference between a photographer and someone with a camera, is form, the photographer can see form”

I have been told, when taking landscape shots, to ‘fill the corners’. This has worked quite well, except in the case where one of the top corners is filled by the leaves of some tree in the foreground against some distant background (mountain/lake for example)…..I always end up thinking, if only the bloody tree wasn’t there.

When it comes to pictures of people….Fill the frame. Don’t worry about ears or tops of heads missing. Its expressions that count.

If I remember every thing here I will be a genius

Not sure how to handle attribution, but is now the right time to put these into an article?

That would also mean removing duplicates and, unfortunately, much of the humorous patter.

The article would need to be followed by solicitations for new material.

    We’d need:
    Permission from???
One worker bee to do most of the work
    2-3 content advisors

I’d be willing to do the drudge work.
