I live in Kildare and am relativly new to SLR use, having only upgraded to a nikon d80 last year. I have since learned the basics of the camera myself and am resonably confident using the camera and programs like photshop for basic editing. My interest in photography is mostly to do with taking images of people and I have looked around for courses or people willing to offer one on one lessons at resonable prices, but to no avail (either courses are too basic or too expert). In particular i would like to learn more about – portrait photography, studio photography and more advanced used of Photoshop. Can anyone reccomend decent courses or know anyone who would give lessons for a beginner to intermediate user.Any advice appreciated

I am on my 2nd course with digital begineers.
Great courses, learnt a lot, the Creative course includes studio, outings, critique, photoshop and I’ve already a 3rd course booked for this month.
AlanI’ve checked out the digital beginners website before but times dont suit as i would’nt be able to get into Dublin city centre until 8pm. Am ideally looking for someone who would be willing to teach one on one for an hour or two every now and again. Or perhaps allow me to observe a photo shoot to help gain experience. I don’t expect this to be free but my problem is I don’t know anybody who does this. If you know anybody or care to refer anybody i’d appreciate it.
Suggestions welcome.

Jerrywhat about peter cox sure is a expencive price but its ment to b very good he has links on the site and posts so he shouldnt be to hard to get hold of. oh and he is in west cork direction i beleve
The next studio course I am doing with Dave at DB is actually at his Park West offices .
You might consider joining a local club – Celbridge would appear to be one of the biggest in Kildare but there are lots more around that meet regularly and have various workshops/ tutorials most weeks- just a thought ….
