BrenONeillParticipantFab shot and not one reply or comment? Great work Brendan :)
What’s going on in this forum…it seems to have died. I make no excuse for myself as I have felt the winter blues and shite weather and I have not been out much… but come on… this is a great image!
RASMITH32MemberAnonymousParticipantI’m wondering if the snow is too dominant on the left hand side of the image or would it have been a better image without it?
Nice image all the same. Fair play to you for making the trek up there.brownieParticipantWonder away John17…this is a beautiful shot with the snow…that’s what the photo is all about…ORANGE SNOW !!
Noel.
SeaviewParticipantSurprised I missed this also, an excellent shot and a real credit to you.
Dave.
sndipoMemberNot sure if this comes across too harsh or not, it is meant to be a critique section..
I just don’t like it really. The shot itself is great, quality wise, crisp etc; but composition is not my cup of tea and the tones are just too unnatural looking, for me, sorry. Not too sure what to say..maybe try a different angle? Just think the snow isn’t really helping either.
Suppose it’s one of those shots, you either love it or hate it?!
No hard feelings :)miki gParticipantThe colour & composition in this just doesn’t do it for me. The colour of the foliage (especially on the right) looks too orange on my screen. I also find the rock with the snow in the foreground to be too dominant in the scene (even though it is the main part of the scene) and by being the main area of focus, I find the overall view around it to be unneccessary and distracting. I also don’t think that orange & blue (as in the shaded snow) really work well together in this shot, but perhaps would work if there was a lot more snow covering the foliage.
Fair play to you for making the trek up there & I apologise if my post is very negative. It’s just personal taste.brendancullenParticipantThanks a million for your observations and opinions. Always appreciated.
On mature reflection – i do think the rock/snow is too dominant – and i think i need to get my monitor calibrated – as i’m purposely over doing the vibrance / saturation to suit my screen. Extremely difficult conditions to walk through – and trying keeping your hands warm to adjust settings and composition. The ground has 18 inches of heather – and full of water holes.
I did manage to take another 2 which I have added at the end on this post.
Cheers – bren
AnonymousParticipantI don’t envy you being there in those conditions but I admire your determination & resolution.
Best of luck.brendancullenParticipantjodal1975Participanti much prefer the composition and tones of the last shot brendan , really beautiful .
