Nice shot Jenny. Looks like you where standing right beside him/her.

Lovely shot Jenny, I bet he moved off pretty quickly once he spotted you.

Thanks Dave, he didn’t seem that pushed to be honest, I watched him for
about 15 mins and he was just swimming around and doing what comes
naturally :D he then disappeared into a water tunnel. As far as I know there is no exit
from the tunnel and I waited about 20 mins but he never reappeared. There was also
A Dipper that had a nest in the tunnel, when the adults went in to feed the young
The noise of them was unreal! The tunnel was acting likes megaphone

Great find Jenny. You should return again he’s probably a regular visitor.

Thanks Padraig, I will but I was reading that they can have a very large territory,
Up to 40km for males and 20km for females! Seems a huge area and if true would
Mean that I was just very lucky to see it at all” :D

Nice find Jenny. Check for tracks, spraints and slides near the edge of the water & you could be lucky enough to meet it or a family member again.

Thanks miki, will do, that would be great to see a family! Is this the time of year for
    Young?

Otters are non-seasonal breeders so they could have young anytime. I rekon that if food is plentiful locally, there’s a good chance that they will stay in the general area. As they are mainly nocturnal hunters, dawn or dusk are probably the best times to find them.
