    Hi All,

Being working on a couple of different portraits lately and this one I quite like, would appreciate your C & C

I’m not an expert on portraits. I normally just try to learn in this section.
However, no one else has pitched in, so here’s my few words….

The photo seems well-executed – sharp, exposed correctly and so on. The black and white
(your metadata leaves us guessing as to whether it’s a digital conversion or not) is really
quite nice – from your title, you seem to have achieved at least one aim.

There’s something about the mood of the photo that I find a bit disturbing. It’s almost as
if it’s not a portrait, but a “study” – like a scientific illustration. There’s a coldness about it
and I’m left wondering if this is what you wanted. I tend to photograph people only when they are
my waens, so I’m always looking for warmth.

I’ve tried to be objective because I don’t find myself drawn to the shot very much. I hope
    that’s helpful, anyway.

I’d tend to agree with Pete on this one.
It is a very well executed shot on a technical level and I do like
the composition. However it does have a very cold feel to it. Almost
as if the model is bored or not bothered.

Perhaps having her eyes directed a little more towards the camera would help.
She doesn’t need to be looking into the lens or anything just to have less of a
mugshot look to her. She is attractive though, I’m jsut not sure this pose is the best
    way of potraying that.

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments, this lady I asked to deliberatley look away for a change and not look directly at me, just trying for something different.

    Regards,

    Dominic
