I’m really interested in fashion/Nude at the moment, and am working on pr=oducubng a panel in theis style .. recently I worked with the amazing Madame Bink .. (she delivers in EVERY photo) I’m very happy with this one
ZoundzMemberI’m not so qualified to offer critique, but I think this is a really lovely shot :) I can’t think of much to improve it to be honest – except perhaps the shadow on her rear? that seems to be very vaguely distracting, but not enough to worry about! :)
(see, i’m trying this critique thing, but I’m not sure I’m any good at it )
i love it! :D

ExpresbroParticipantReally nice Lorraine…the lighting seems quite subdued..I assume that was planned?
The only distracting thing for me is the larger butterfly..it seems very dominant in the frame and distracts from the model, if such a thing is possible :-)
LoGillParticipantzoundz – love hearing all oppinions – I usually take it on board before printing images and its usually really helpful – so don’t be worrying :) get stuck in there !!
Robbie – This was taken in my kitchen last Sunday :) using an SB800 and a shoot through umbrella .. (and a smidge of reflector ) – I like the softness of the light and the falloff like this – but of course I appreciate lots of people prefer more balanced lighting .. I want subtle and muted tones …. and Goddamn it .. do you know how long it took to find that butterfly … tskkk ;)

AllinthemindParticipantHiya Lozza,
:)
The lighting is excellent. The lines and flow are good. Amy’s expression is brilliant. My only thought (not really a criticism), is on the number of elements that you are dressing your nude with. As they say in MasterChef. Too many ingredients can take away from the flavours of the main ingredient.
Loving your work, keep the ugly one on his toes :)

ExpresbroParticipantSo you only used an SB800 through an umbrella? Very impressive so..darn it…maybe I shouldn’t have bothered buying the D-Lite2 kit if you can get these results with just the SB800.
Oh and hey..it’s a really nice butterfly..honest..just..big…hehe!!
gsParticipantNicely set up & camera veiwpoint very good.
I find wrist pearls too distracting due to their scale ,mabey if they were a narrow string wraped several times around wrist…
You have to forgive my over attention to detail but to me this makes the difference between a good shot & a very good shot & believe my I critique my own work in this respect more than anyone !!nice work & great model.

LoGillParticipant:) I’m happy out if the “tweak” comments relate to the styling, which is exactly how i hoped it would be – better even as the model threw in her own idea..
Fot the moment the nude work I’m doing is styled and includes accessories .. I spoke to another photographer about this recently and we were laughing that after a while shooting models nude – you start to throw clothes back onto them :) I guess I’m starting the process.. this one IS called Over the Top by the way .. ;) perhaps I should steer you more and call it “Madame Butterfly” ;)
Thanks a million for the feedback – I hope to create a panel of 14 of these before april …. Yikes !!

LoGillParticipantseanmcfotoMemberHi Lorraine,
I shot binky after you recently.. and ciaran too.My style skills hover around 0-0.01% or so, so far be it from me to critique. That said I like the concept. The butterfly doesn’t sit well with me though. It’s a colour issue rather than a placement issue.
As for the muted tones etc, I likely.kdolinnyParticipant
