Oyster catchers?

They eat mussels, so I’m confused now… are these birds oyster catchers? Anyway I had a bit of a fun following them and trying to focus all the time. They were taken in Blackrock. Would you print any of these pictures? I’m not really convinced, and would be happy to hear some critique.

The second shot looks the one for me, it looks sharp and you have nice DoF field in the background .. the first looks a tad soft and for the third the separation from the background isn’t distinct enough.

Thanks for the comments and for the identification. I’m on the way to learn the english names of the birds, next time I use the wikipedia before posting… oh, yes, is there an online birding book somewhere?
