I took these while the Peakin’ trippers were playing on the Bray bandstand, for the Bray summer fest. All C&C’s welcome.
Here is a link to their myspace page if you want to listen to their music.

sndipoMemberI noticed you use a lot of B/W on the photos? Any particular reason?
I like the pictures as I know it’s hard to get the lighting right and the quality is usually reduced by the on stage lights..I’d like to see more coloured pics here in the future ;) Well done :)KennyParticipantVery nice shots jonny! I had a look through the set and I think I prefer the color shots also. What lens were you shooting with and were you standing in with the crowd or in front? I was gonna take my camera out to bray tomorrow evening if the weather is nice and try get a few snaps of ryan sheridan playing but I’ve never done any gig photography and just wondering if you have any general tips as I see you’re using the 550d same as myself (I’m new to photography but eager to learn :P)

Thanks Kenny. I was standing at the front of the stage, I started out using 18-135 kit lens but I couldn’t zoom in enough to single out a subject. I switched to a 70-300 and that seemed to work out. As for tips, I find using manual focus is easier, auto focus tends to focus on objects in front of the people like necks of guitars or microphones.
