First post to the forum I thnk. Here are a selection of shots from my photoblog, http://inphotos.org/
All shots were taken on St. Patrick Street, Cork over the past few months. All candid street shots, all but the last one taken with a 10mm wide angle lens on my 20D, close up. The last one was taken with a zoom but the girl was standing only a few feet away and as I was standing on top of a marble block the camera to my face was very visible!

    Welcome to the site Donncha.

Very nice shots for your first post, with the exception I suppose of the second. My favourite
would be the first, then the last, finally the third. The third might have been the winner
here were the angle a little less severe.
Looking forward to seeing some more of your work, so keep posting and don’t be shy.

    Rob.

Thanks for the feedback! The first photo above is one of my favourite shots of 2006. The little girl in the dress is so unusual it appeals to me!

I must admit photo 2 is a bit of an experiment and followed my work on this shot. It looks unatural and fake but then it’s supposed to and I quite liked it. Not to everyone’s tastes of course.

    Hello again donnacha,
I thought there was something fishy going on with photo no.2,
its just not normal to have such depth of field effects on wide angle shots like this-
    Your later picture explains it-

I had a look at your site,
and there’s some very impressive stuff there-

Hey Donncha, a nice set of pics. Very familiar climes for me indeed. That last one you posted is especially eyecatching, for the angle, the movement, the conversion, and the overall effect it has. I also like some of the work on your p-blog.

If you’re into gigs, there’s a good’un at the Roundy on Sunday night – see you there?

Thanks Stasber! Unfortunately I’ll be in Waterford on Saturday talking at BarCamp SouthEast and after that I’ll be taking it easy for the weekend. My brother Donal might be interested. I’ll point him at this thread!
