Peoples Photography?

Has anyone heard anything about the Peoples Photography Exhibition? I see the website http://www.peoples-photography.com has been updated, and it says it will be on the 28th and 29th of August this year, but they don’t appear to be taking bookings yet.
The FAQ says:
Q: When will you be open for bookings?
A: We will be open for bookings from the start of June.The start of June has gone at this stage…

Good news, bookings have opened yesterday (Sat 12th) for previous exhibitors. Check the email account you used to register for the previous exhibition :)
Well, I haven’t exhibited before, so I won’t get an email. I want to make sure I have a spot before I spend money printing and framing. Any idea when bookings will be open to everyone?

Do be careful, as a first ime exhibitor do not spend too much money especially on framing as you may not get a return. It is a great opportunity to have your work seen by a very wide audience but remember there will be approx 200 other photographers displaying their work all with the hope of selling a print or two. I would however suggest that you get some business cards with your website and e-mail address listed and pass them on to any members of the public who like your work with a view to future sales maybe around Christmas. This has proved successful for photographers in the past at Peoples Photography. Its a great weekend, i hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the advice! I’m planning to frame around 10 photographs, and I’m planning to give them out as Christmas presents. Whatever is left over, I’ll just hang on my wall. I have no expectation of selling anything, although it would be nice to, obviously.
The suggestion of cards is an excellent one. I think there are cards you can get made from an image…I might look at doing that.

I echo everything Eddie said. My attitude towards the show is go into it expecting to sell nothing and if you sell anything it’s a big bonus :) Just seeing people interested in out photographs is as much as most of us get .
