jb7Participant
aren’t they?
Little detail of a flower in my cousin’s garden in Dunshaughlin yesterday evening- I’m told its a PomPom Dahlia
Edit : thanks ciaran, you were right, I had omitted the sharpening on this one- fixed that now-
its only a little sketch anyway, a massive crop-ciaranParticipantSorry Josef.. this one isn’t for me. It seems soft all over with no one part at all in focus :?:
jb7ParticipantRobMember… so make sure you wait till after your next shoot before you have lunch

picture edited, sharpened-
If a shot is soft because of camera shake and/or subject movement in combination with a slow shutter speed, no amount of post processing sharpening is going to make it “sharp”.
A good tutorial/explanation of sharpness can be found here: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/sharpness.htm
jb7Participantone reason the picture is soft is because of the degree of magnification. Its only a sketch, as I have mentioned, what interested me was the geometry. The picture I posted is a detail of this one, which is pretty boring
Unfortunately this is as close as I can go at the moment. Further enlargement means throwing out pixels. and a little local contrast does no harm –
AliParticipantI really really like the second shot jb7 – very nice composition. The first i think would look great portrait. ??
jb7ParticipantI like the way they look like a crowd of little mouths- esp. on the left of the first one-
I think I’d lose that in portrait-thanx Ali-
Noely FParticipantVery “Coral like ” in appearance.I like the second shot, the crop is grainy and a bit blurred alright. One thing I’ve learned
is macro and wind do not go together :wink:jb7ParticipantThanks Noely, looking back now, don’t know how I even got this one.
Late evening, windy, hand held, 200mm actual, !SO 100, f7.1, 1/15th.
if it wasn’t for the little bit of light I wouldn’t have bothered at all.
and if it wasn’t for the VR I wouldn’t have got anything.usually, when I think of expensive glass, I’m not thinking conservatory-
