Here it is $ 4.89 for diesel
That’s not too bad – works out at around EUR 0.83 per litre. I paid EUR 1.40 per litre two days ago (which is about USD 8.24 per gallon).

WOW
KeithJonesParticipantIn the USA the Government cut the petrol tax when the petrol price went up.
Obviously they care about their voters….shutterbugParticipantIt is all down to greed of both oil companies and government
 especially government where certainly in Ireland they
couldnt care less about the motoring community starting at the
price of cars and then all the way down the line from running
costs and road conditions and safety…….as long as they are
coining it they dont give a sh.. But dont get me started on that :!:randomwayMemberI just found a useful website for checking the petrol prices in Ireland… http://www.pumps.ie
Mick451ParticipantMy dream car since I was a kid was a late 60s V8 Mustang fastback, although I wouldn’t say no to an Aston or an XKR.
I’ve every intention of eventually getting my hands on one or the other, and then driving the nuts off it for as long as I can.
Of course it’ll be far more expensive for me to do so, but driving cars is fast becoming a luxury.I’m not sure the idea of boycotting certain petrol stations is viable – you could just end up spending any savings you make on fuel by travelling further to a cheaper station. I can’t see them reducing taxes on petrol (or road taxes or VRT or CO2 emissions) as the motoring community account for a massive proportion of government revenue, and any shortfall there would have to be made up elsewhere – increases in income tax, VAT, or some wishy washy levy they’ll impose and forget to cancel.
We’re not actually too bad compared to the rest of Europe, certainly not the most expensive going back over recent surveys:
http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/eupetrolprices/default.aspI wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised to see petrol hit 1.50 by the year’s end.
