A pheasant from last night. Was out in the hide from 18:00 till 21:00 … the first 90 minutes consisted of me playing golf on the phone. Then everything started to happen. Anyway, this chappie walked up to my hide a couple of times and once walked right past it. I never realised that they make a huming noise as they walk along.
DenverDollParticipantWow..opened this and the colors were just fiery!
Beautiful one Aidan. The perspective is spot on!They hum? now that is freaky.
Shar
Alan RossiterParticipantSpot on Aidan. You either have to have a hide for these or extreme pure luck. This is perfect, as usual.
Regarding the humming…I’ve never heard of that one before but playing golf with a phone in a tent is pretty unusual too.
Alan.
joe_elwayParticipantThank folks. The last 90 minutes in the hide was unbelievable. There’ll be more photos and a story with that later.
Earlier in the day … I walked outside the house and a bird of prey (Sparrowhawk, I believe) flew right over me, close enough to see the yellow in it’s eyes. A flock of sparrows, ironically enough, were chasing it away. I ran for the camera and was out for two hours watching for it. It came again but it’s approach was so low that my sighting was too late to get a shot. Anyway … that time it went after a greenfinch that was rocketing away from the tree with out feeders. Only got some very distant shots of it.
bethParticipantgreat colors. wonderful clarity and detail in the feathers. all your waiting paid off nicely.
