Ken – you need to remove the ‘.’ from the end of the URL – otherwise it just displays the smugmug startup page.
I also have a smugmug account – though just a standard one.
I like lots of things about the site – not least the great user support, and unlimited storage.
However, a few people have told me they find navigating my pictures quite awkward.
Personally, I find it pretty logical. But it takes a bit of practice and familiarity to get the most out of it.
So, it may be too much for casual browsers. If smugmug revamped their default interface (possible more in line with Zenfolio), then I would recommend it more highly. The other negative, is that they don’t have a European photo printer, only a (highly-rated) US one.
“Preventing people from downloading a photo also means that a transparent image will be positioned over the photo on the photo page, which is intended to discourage* people from right-clicking to save the photo, or dragging the photo to their desktop.”
“* By “discourage” we do mean simply “discourage”. Please understand that if a photo can be viewed in a web browser, it can be saved. The transparent image overlaid on the photo will not keep your images safe from theft, and is intended only as a slight hindrance to downloading.”
Hi. Does anyone know if it is possible to move ones pics that were in the Yahoo Photo’s section onto Flikr? Flikr and Yahoo seem to have a thing going but I can’t see that sharing from one over to the other is that easy. Anybody else moved from Yahoo over to Flikr?
