Right, found this randomly so will just post it on as fits to the forum and I hope people will find it a bit interesting :) I think the image is originally from a site PetaPixel if anyone wants to look more into it, I just forwarded it from a social network site.
“Ever wonder what camera gear NASA astronaut Don Pettit uses to shoot his amazing photographs from the International Space Station? Here’s a portrait of Don floating around on with his massive collection of Nikon DSLRs and lenses. How much of the gear can you identify? (via OnOrbit)”
Crazy amount of stuff he has! And let me say what we’re all thinking- bet the company paid for all these!
I was trying to look and find a better place for this type of post, again, but suppose I will have to suggest it in the Site Questions and Suggestions thread, a place where interesting finds from the Internet can be posted for everyone to see :)
I found this interesting too: The Fate of the Moon Camera – Totally 12 Hasselblad Moon Cameras were left behind on the moon surface in completing the different missions during 1969 – 1972, in order to balance the weight of precious samples collected from moon surface. Supposingly, the cameras are still there until now, and it is possible to bring these gems back
If anyone just happens to be passing, could they pick one of these up for me?
