Photo Hosting Sites

ExpresbroParticipant
Okay..this may have been discussed before..but I haven’t come across it yet..if it has..apologies in advance.
Question is…What do you think is the best Photo Hosting site, with regards to ease of use and account limit.
I have been using Fotki up to now..but they have just unceremoniously changed from an unlimited upload limit..to a 50MB max for their free account..and i am already over the limit..so time to move or sign up for the paid account. I don’t have enough photo’s that I think I want to display publically yet to justify that..so which is the best free one?
Thanks
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantI’ve been using photobucket for the last year….uploading ALOT of stuff and it still seems to be working fine for me…
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Johnny…I have an account with them…but have only really used it for avatars and suchlike. I’ve just signed up for a Flikr account and am uploading some pics there..it seems quite popular with a lot of the posters here so gonna give it a go.
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantYeah I signed up for the flickr pro account for 24 dollars for the year…and I think it’s a 2 gig storage space….as far as I can remember…lol
StevieParticipantI use Flickr too.
The thing I don’t like is the images are shown “as uploaded” on your homepage. You can put them into sets but can’t order them – if that makes sense?
Or am I missing something?ExpresbroParticipantJohnnyMcMillan wrote:

Yeah..is not a lot of money I suppose. I’ll probably do that too…if I can get organised and sort the photos I want to upload..or if I can find enough that are worth uploading :D
Stevie..I can’t help ya there yet…have only just signed up. I liked the Fotki set up..but like I said…they’ve basically disabled their free service.
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantNo you can actually put them into order…..as in the photos in each set, just a matter of going to “organize” and then to the set you want and then in that one, move the photos around
richiehatchMemberI use pBase as well as a few others on this forum… has been discussed here before:

IOPParticipantYou might consider using Picasa from Google (you can download it from here http://picasa.google.com/#utm_source=en-us-more&utm_campaign=en-pic&utm_medium=et). You get 250mb free when you use the “Web Albums” button in Picasa. You can also upgrade to 6gig for about $25 a year.
While Picasa is Windows only, Mac users can still get the web space. Macs have 2 options, one is a plug-in for iPhoto (works great) and the other is an App that allows direct upload to your Picasa Web Album. You end up with an address like this http://picasaweb.google.com/digitalbeginners, but you can cloak that if you have your own domain name.
Merry Christmas everyone

ExpresbroParticipantI do use Picasa …but just for cataloguing and editing…never thought about using it for hosting as well. I’ll look into it tomorrow. thanks.
