Hi I am new to photography and I am confused about mounts what is

    1. The recommended size of mount allowing for max A4 size printer
    2. Slip in mounts better
    3.How to order a mount
4 How to mount A picture
5.Can I cut mounts to suit or is it difficult if you dont a have a workshop
6.www.strandframing.com is it good place to order mounts for small orders

The camera club is in discussion on what is the max size mount required initial suggestion was 16″ x 12″ but this may change.

    Thanks :D

i like wider mounts, i hate seeing skinny mounts. so common for photographers to make the picture as big as possible then stick a small skinny mount around it

camera club stuff is generally 20*16 (approx 500*400) and looks well on an a4 print

slip in mounts are not for high quality prints really they are for events and gift type photography like schools pics etc

ordering mounts – well i cut mounts, for a camera club best thing to do is buy a whole bundle and let the members buy them in small batches from the club

mounting a picture- well lots of different ways

you can buy a hand held cutter to cut mounts yes, its a PITA, and you will ruin a bunch. i have a 25k computerised cutter for doing it

strand is one of many companies that will supply mounts, where you based?
