Photo Size (MB)

Often I’ve wanted to upload a particular picture to random networking internet sites etc. and there is a limit on the MB size of the photo you can upload, for example I have a picture 4.09 MB in size and wanted to upload it to a site where the limit is 2MB, obviously couldn’t be done and I was wondering is there a way of making the MB size smaller? I’m using a Nikon D60 to take photos… Thank you (“,)

Most computers come with paint, just open the pic with that and along the top menu bar there is the option titled image, click on that and the second option down resize/skew click on it.then you can resize by typing in the percentage size you want the finished picture compared to the current one, but both firures must be the same, so for instance if you want the pic reduced to 30%, you must enter 30% in each box.Though maybe if you change the camera settings to get alower quality pic or the file format i.e jpeg raw etc you will have smaller pics, which are fine for mmost people.

For screen viewing, there’s no point in uploading a full resolution image.

Go to http://www.faststone.org and download the free program viewer and resizer.

Then resize [a copy of] your pic to 800 x 800 pixels — quite enough for screen viewing.

    Save as .jpg then upload.
