I was thinking of printing a photo book with the pictures of a wedding i did for a friend. Has anybody got opinion on best website for this and are the results worth the effort of uploading etc

i know i could just print 20 or so pics and put in an album but thought the idea of a photobook was nice

I’ve not done something like this myself yet, but I saw several at Focus on Imaging this year including Bob Books. Bob Books were certainly good quality but the one that impressed me most was MyPhotoBook. Whilst MyPhotoBook didn’t have a stand at Focus on Imaging, a wedding photographer that did have a stand there, offering wedding photography courses, pulled out two MyPhotoBook books when I asked if I could see more of his work. I asked him were he had got the books done and that’s when he told my about MyPhotoBook. He said he had tried a lot of the others but eventually settled on MyPhotoBook as offering the best quality and value for money. He produces a book of his best work every year and now has sizing and text positioning down to a fine art. It certainly looked great. So if and when I get around to producing a book myself, I’ll probably try MyPhotoBook as a first choice.

As I wrote in an earlier thread, I tried photobox.ie and yophoto.co.uk. The photobox hard cover books are nice, the banding is not the greatest, and they have only a hard paper cover, but they really look great, and the photos inside are beautifully printed. I used the books as portfolios, and I even sold two of them.
The yophoto uses a beautiful leather cover and excellent banding, but that’s it. The print quality of the pictures was awful in my case and when I sent back the three books that I ordered, I only got reprinted two, and those weren’t perfect either. They referred to a new software and new printer that they used, but sincerely, I won’t use their service again.

I was just about to put together a new selection of my photos, so I might just try Thorsten’s receommended MyPhotoBook.

If you do, then let us know what you think. I saw the Photobox Books at Focus on Imaging and was a little disappointed in what I saw. I’ve never seen Yophoto books, but I’ve only ever heard negative comments about them online and in magazines, so I’ll certainly be steering clear of them for the moment.

    Thanks for the tips guys

i have ownloaded Myphotobook and seems really easy to use and reasonable price – so might go for that
The photobox i think is cheaper but the templates arent as easy to modify from what i have tried
