    Hi Roy,

Good luck with the club. It looks like it will be a great meeting point for N. Ireland photographers.

My one observation is that it seems to be centred around portraiture and studio. There are a lot of landscapers out there that seem to be neglected by your programme.

hi , thanks for your kind words on the club, im looking forward to the first nite as are a few others, just to see how things go, it will take a few years i believe for the club to get established.

The camera club is based in a photography studio, i believe its the only club in Ireland to do so, the programme will look at and give members a range of photography experiances. we will be going to an owl santury, visiting Belfast at night, where there are many landmark building lit, also visiting National Trust properties and photographing sunsets on lough Neagh, amoung other landscape trips, in fact once the whole years programme is in place it may well be weighted to outdoor photography.

The situation in Ireland over the years is that camera clubs have been A, competition orintated, and B, give no or little studio or basic photography experience, most pro photographers shoot portraits or weddings, i feel, the learning of photography to people interested should be equally matched. Entering competitions is ok, but for people with no or little experience, learning how your camera works in different situations i feel is a better way for a club base its programme round.

Have you considered joining Northern Ireland Photographic Association?

Yes i’ve considered it, but don’t think it would in anyway have any positive effect on my photography businesses.
