Photography Course

Hi all. I’m a newbie here and looking to do a digital SLR photography course in Limerick.
Could you suggest anything?

hey meika I am living in limerick and when I got my first dslr I looked for something in limerick but couldnt find anything suitable if you need a hand with anything dont hesitate to pm me on this site or even if you want i wouldnt mind meeting up going through the basics of your dslr functionality etc. hope i wasnt presuming you know less about photography than you actually do :)

I am in Limerick too and couldn’t find anything either.

Would you be interested in joining a camera club in Limerick? PM if you want information.

I think Limerick Senior College do courses but they might be too basic.

However, I did find a place in Ennis (via Google) that do day courses which is only out the road. I can let you have the link to that to if you pm.

Dont forget Peter Cox, not a million miles away in Cork. Does Excellent 1 on 1 courses. Well worth a try..

Hi Meika, welcome to the PI site. You will find it a great help. Also consider buying some of the monthly photography magazines. I usually get a couple every month and find them great as the majority are aimed at Amateur photographers. There is a great selection in Easons on O’Connell street. Also take your camera with you as much as possible and experiment, experiment, practice and practice.

Hi Meika

I did the Introduction to Photography course in DIT before Christmas and it has just whetted my appetite to learn more.

I have been looking around for other part time evening courses to build on this.

I found this site which seems to be a search engine for courses, I had a quick look and it and there are several courses listed for Limerick. Not sure if any are exactly what you are looking for but it might be worth a look.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I’ve been doing some research myself and found out that UL are advertising Digital Photography courses in the Department of Lifelong Learning. Don’t know any details yet. Their tel. no: 061 202530
