Photography for Litigation Court Case

Has anyone here done this kind of work, and if so how was your bill handled at the end of it all.
I have done 111 10×8 prints for a case about 4 months ago and now that the case is settled
the insurance company involved do not want to pay my fees. They are offering 13.5% of the
total invoice.ThorstenMemberGCP wrote:

I have no idea how these cases are charged but I do know a photographer in Cork that does a lot of this work and whose wife is a lawyer. I could ask him, although I’m not sure if he’d be prepared to divulge his own personal business practices.
I presume you had a written contract to provide this service which detailed your terms and conditions?
Did the insurance company in question win the case or loose it?
GCPParticipantI think it was settled out of court as I was called to appear to testify the pics were taken by me and no manipulation was applied…..probably standard stuff but on the day it I was cancelled and told I would not be required.
Anyway…..good news… cheque has been issued and account paid in full. I did have to kick up a stink and kick ass and do some arm twisting. I was being told it would go forward to the Taxing Master for adjudication and I may not even get the amount offered.
Well, I’m afraid I play very dirty when necessary…….a nasty streak inherrited from my late grandfather. I always believe that we all have a weak spot, a tender point, skeleton in the cupboard sort of thing and if one can find out what it is then it can be a good place to apply a thorn. Well. yesterday, after a bit of investigation I found the tender point and applied the thorn……….result – cheque issued, account paid in full and skeleton laid to rest………everybody happy again – well at least I’m happy !.
I know its not the proper way to do things but it did get a result. As Del Boy says “Do unto others before they do unto you”
thefizzParticipantGCPParticipantThanks Peter,
just invested in a hi-glide system during the week and part of this will finance it. The rest will un-do some damage that was done to the bank account.Thorston, thanks also for advice…….I think the guy you talk about might be DB. I was advised by our org to talk to him also but I managed to “force this guys hand” before I went down that road……thanks again.
