Photos of a 1968 French nuclear test

I came across these on a blog today.
If ever there was a reason for using photography for political purposes this is it. However, the beauty of the pictures does conflict with the horror of their origin.
They are best viewed in their largest sizes.

They are some mega shots. Lovely photoshop job with the colours, just like a Velvia tranny. You can see where the neg/tranny has been dusty/stained in a couple of the shots! Great link (not taking into account what the bombs do of course).
