Suggest we meet at the Meelmore Lodge at 10:00.
We can decide where to go depending on the weather and everyone’s preferences. A walk up to the Hare’s Gap would be good – we’ll be to the west of the hills but once up to the Gap, the sun will be lighting up the Mournes.
If the weather doesn’t support a walk in the hills we can decide on plan B.
Everybody OK with this (meeting arrangements)?
Weather looks pretty good – not cold, a bit of cloud, some chance of rain, but generally quite good.

Make sure to bring the right clothing and footwear – hopefully we’ll get out for a bit of a wander. Any questions/worries, let me know.

Weather wasn’t the best but we all managed to get to the top of Hares Gap!!
Cheers Steve
colgo2212ParticipantJust a quick note to say thanks to all for a great weekend up the Mournes and it was great to finally put a face to some of the names on the site. I especially would like to say a big thank-you to Brian for organizing the trip and accommodation (even if I had to sleep in the crows nest) and for the local knowledge and banter as we struggled up Hare’s Gap.
Just had a quick look at my photos from the weekend and while it might be safe to say that there are none with the wow factor (or any other factor for that matter) I will endeavor to try and finally post one on the site.
NĂall.
LWheelerParticipantThanks Brian for organising the day. It was good to meet everyone. I have been quickly reviewing the pictures that I took but am not sure that I have much either…. Wil try to post some soon….
ossie13ParticipantWell not many keepers this weekend so this is one from the top of the Hare’s Gap before the cloud moved in and we had to hightail it back down the mountain to the safety of the pub…. :D
Cheers Steve
cathaldParticipantCheers guys and gals an enjoyable weekend as ever
