Hoping to make it down on Saturday morning for the meet-up.
This is dependant on getting over this dose I have, which is
keeping me firmly tied to the house at the moment. The forecast
for Saturday is pretty ok.The coordinates for the hostel for anyone using sat nav are
54.06.34.40N 6.02.33.70W.As an aside, what lens would people recommend as an all rounder
for this type of trip. Have 24-105 and 70-300 to choose from?
Thanks to Brian for organizing this.Matt.
Matt just bring both you never know what sort of shots you might be taken
MartinParticipantSorry for late reply. Very hard to suggest a walk when I don’t know peoples fitness levels… Below walk can be done by anyone. Its just down the road from where you are staying. Its up in the windy gap. Not a great spot but there is some nice photo ops if you look around….
Talk to you on Sunday Morning at 10
Regards
MDrive up the Sandy Brae Road beside football pitch near Attical. Leave car up at end of bad road out of the way (share cars). Walk around to the left of the house on the track. Then walk into the valley. Nice stream and nice trees on right hand side of the valley over the wall. Pic of one of the trees taken a few years back below. obroinParticipantGreat to meet all on Saturday and put faces to names, and to finally see
the PLANK live. Plenty of ground covered and a few photographs taken. As for the early nights, well you could almost believe that as the absence
of watering holes was pretty obvious. Sorry now I didnt stay over as Turi
did such a good job of dinner, next time perhaps.Well guys thanks for having me, very enjoyable and informative and hope
to see you all again on a further trip.Cheers, Matt.
RobMemberYes, it was good to see everyone…
Sorry for departing early, but a sudden mood swing took me elsewhere on Saturday.
Even sorrier after I’d learned of Turi’s culinary skills…Still, nice to meet some old friends and make a couple of new ones…
I didn’t get many pictures – I find landscapes confusing these days – but here’s
a couple that were slightly better than the worse ones…Silent Valley Reservoir
Dam Inconvenience
Of course it just wouldn’t be me if there wasn’t a few sneaky candids thrown in of
the expedition party, so here goes…ossie13ParticipantSome great candid’s Rob…..shame some are spoilt with my ugly mug……
Cheers Steve
b318ispParticipantLooks like another great trip – lighting seems nice and even. Well done for having the trip in the first place – pity I missed it!
MarkKeymasterHaha excellent Rob ! I might stick the candids up in the gallery if thats ok with you ? :)
