Pinhole Pics

Decided to post some pinhole images here. Seems to be some debate as to the best place for them but i think here is ideal as those interested in ‘alternative photography’ can find them easier.
These were done with an modified slr – pentax mx – mirror and lens mount removed so i could get a 16mm focal length. (0.15mm pinhole – measured by taking a high res scan)
so thats f107 – and with the wide angle you get that nice vignette. I’ve had this camera for 6 months now and it’s become my favourite. truly point and shoot, on a
sunny day with fast film 1/30s will do for everything barring shooting in shade – so no light meter required. The shutter which i conserved is all mechanical so no batteries required either.
I’ve recently added a 17mm viewfinder from a konica wai wai disposable camera, i was considering a rangefinder system until i had the cheaper idea. The wai wai made some good pics too until she was hacked…but that another story (and maybe post).
I develope the bw myself and scan. the colour are done by my local lab. film is neopan for the bw’s and superia for the colour.
No editing done barring dust spotting. File size varies a bit – i left a few bigger ones in so you can see the resolution – the big ones are still pretty small though.
Hope you enjoy….also hope to see more picture posts in this section.JimmyGParticipantEddieParticipantJimmy
My little bit of experience here tells me users prefer embedded images and some may will not click to enlage these images. I have clicked on a few and they have taken ages to load. Most users use their Blogs Flickr and even Photobox the on line printers for holding their images. The one i use below is cheap and includes lots of Pinholers and Toy camera users.
The ones i did open are great, the harbour shot in colour is a favourite. the landscapes are also strong, i try to imagine them in print, whic is the only way to view pinholes in my opinion.
jupiterParticipantThey are very cool photos . (By the way, it took me a while to figure out how to upload photos, johnnyMcMillan mentioned photobucket as a good site. You will have to reduce the picture size and increase the resolution, upload to photobucket who then give you a link to paste into the message body. As far as I remember you hit ‘img’ then paste the URL link ‘img’ again… et viola.. ) Look forward to seeing some more!
FlipflipParticipantI abosutely love the one with the surfboards. Really really like it!
The rest of em are all very good. Its a solid collection in all like.
