I shot some dandelions today and decided to give one of them the triptych treatment. I welcome comments and critique and hope to learn from your advice.
RobMemberInteresting idea Dave. Not exactly my thing, but I could well imagine this type of image printed large on canvas and hanging in some trendy boutique or cafe in the city centre.
Rob.
earthairfireParticipantDave,
Again, I could see this in a cafe (or dare I say, ikea!!) – very popular kind of image. I think the selection of subject is ideal for the treatment – nice and simple, yet bold. The B&W image stands out a little too much for my liking, against the muted tones for the others – maybe a third colour could work in the centre? Also, the far RHS one seems to have lost some definition, in comparison to the far LHS one, so makes it look a little unbalanced. Maybe either back of the tratment a little, or move this one into the centre to balance better?
Just my suggestions – hope they help! Either way, nice idea.
Tim
joolsveerParticipantThanks for the comments and advice lads. I will try to arrive at more balance between the three elements and repost if I succeed.
CiaraParticipantI dont know an awful lot about the rights and the wrongs but the first one (the green one) is my favorite to look at.
joolsveerParticipantThanks Ciara. The first one is the original and I made the other two by “messing” with it.
Here’s a bigger version of #1
Not Pete the blokeParticipantTriptyches are great! You can probably find some triptych software online which will automatically do it in an action with framing etc. I would suggest having 3 different images rather than using one image with different processing. You could use images of some of the seeds being blown off etc or the half empty head as the others, all in colour.
Something for you to go and work on!
Not Pete the blokeParticipantHere is an example of one of the free framing actions – (I have this one which I made last year from 2 photos as a test. I should have used 3, but it hopefully shows you what I am talking about):
joolsveerParticipantThanks Brandyman for the inspiration and the example. Now to try it out!
