Hi Meghan. There’s closeups and then there’s REALLY closeups. You have an extremely narrow DOF in this. I’d imagine it was very difficult to focus at this magnification. I like the composition of this and think It would also fit pretty well in the abstract section too. I take it that you shot this indoors as any breeze would make it nearly impossible to focus.. Well captured.
I was in a greenhouse so the light was natural, held a piece of black card behind it to get the dark background :)
It has something likeable about it… just not sure the crop is the best… it feels a bit tight towards the top right… would look better with more space…
IMO…
But that’s just me…
Of course others will like it just the way it is…

I like it too. You’ve caught a different kinda view on things with this. Well done.
You could try using the spot meter on your camera for this kind of thing, if you meter for the white, the blacks will be blacker.
