Brenner it looks like a great pic the only thing i would say it looks i wee bit soft and over exposed but im no expert its hard to shoot white against the bright sky Des

Hi Brenner, took the liberty to quickly adjust the levels, bring down some colour to the sky and added a bit of sharpness. Also rotated the image (at cost of losing a bit) in order to get picture straight.

No I don’t mind at all, great job. This is the way to learn. What program do you use?

Hi – agree with Dessie’s comments regarding ‘soft’. Looks better after 2nd process.

Although i have taken many Polo shots – and am no expert on Sports Photography – a golden rule from observing the images in the sports pages – and probably with most pro’s – is you have to have the ball in the shot (unless the sports person is showing emotion).

    Could be wrong though.

    ciao

I’ve used photoshop cs5 but i would be quite confident that can be achieved with any image software. all i did was an auto level correction, lowered the blue channel selected for the sky and added sharpening to the horses. it took 1 minute of work.
I’ve no doubt that could be done in many different ways and many people will obtain similar results with different methods.
Also if done on the original file you would achieve a better result and if you have taken this picture in raw, you would work it in a different way (probably)
If you have any software, i would reccomend to search on you tube for tutorials. there is also good choice of free software very similar to photoshop but free to download (eg gimp)
