Not sure these are all landscape but they where part of what was thee most beautiful part of Ireland I have ever seen…! A very small washed pebble/rock beach called Port, north of Glencolmcille…! An absolute trek to drive there… the road being pretty much non existant in some places…! Ended up getting there after 10pm in the lashing rain and dull dull dull skys..! The rocks in this place range from bright yellow to orange to white to red to slimey yellowey green… pretty much a full spectrum..! I have to say these where thee most difficult conditions I have ever shot in… Umbrella aloft I proceeded… Here are a couple of my fav’s..! (The colours may look oversaturated but honestly this place is really colourful..!)

jb7ParticipantMore bloody rocks-
Only joking really,
I’d be lynched if I wasn’t-Really like 2&4,
would imagine they’d look great as big as you can make them-Worth the drive in that speedy car of yours-

Madra RuaParticipantWow! They are all beautiful, Richie!
I have never seen long exposure close-ups of running water like that before.
The clear texture of the stones and the softness of the water.
The tones of the rocks underwater.
The play with the DOF.Class! Now I want to go outside and play too!
andy mcinroyParticipantLooks like I’ve been beaten to it.
I was given a tip off about this place by a local I know. I’ve got one other place up my sleeve though!
Super images Ritchie. I’m really starting to appreciate these sorts of soft landscapes and these are right up my street. The foreground in the top image is especially good although I would have maybe liked to have seen a little more detail in the sky.
The other 3 are delicious too. You can never have enough rocks. Keep em coming.
Gneiss? I’m busy trying to gen up on Donegal rock types. If I’m shooting it, I should probably learn what it’s called.

I do believe. These are lovely Richie. I expect you’ll be back for better weather one day?
I like no.1 – you can get too many close-ups of rocks in my humble opinion.I’ve been there myself – we camped for a couple of nights. The cleggs chewed
lumps out of us all day and the midges sucked us dry all night. We had a great time
though.richiehatchMemberJ…. yeah there sure has been a fair few rock shots of late… I suppose with the weather recently more of us are looking down instead of up at the bland grey/white/dull skies  As for the speedy car… I can tell ye I gave it a real trashing on some of the roads around Donegal last week… Boy there are some serious blind humps and bumps on those roads…! Great fun…!
Hauke…. As I said to J above I for one have started to look closer to the ground and in truth by the time I reached Port it was so dark and miserable (read lashing rain) i didn’t want to point my lens upwards….!
Andy…. Yes I have beaten you to it but it looks like good auld PaddyJoe beat both of us..! I too was tipped off by my guesthouse host (Michael Breslin in Donegal Manor which I couldn’t recommend high enough). Boy was this place special… it has everything from waterfalls to rocks, cliffs, old stone buildings, a pier, the Atlantic… the only thing it didnt have was the bloody weather… hence no detail in the sky in the first shot…!
Steve… many thanks
Pete… thanks for the heads up on PaddyJoe… that cheeky donkey… I may have spotted him on the hills over that part of the country… maybe thats where he is hiding out..! We should run a ‘Where’s PaddyJoe’ compo..!  Would be an amazing place to camp i reckon… no sign of the cleggs or midges when I was there… I reckon they all drowned..!
Thanks again guys
Richie

though.Yeh, I was eaten alive there a few years ago – and that was just in the carpark.
I agree with Richie that your car can take a good battering around that part of the country.
When the tide is out you can walk around to the caves.mgstParticipantThe close up of the rocks are perfect lovely textures and movement in the water i reckon these
would look fantastic printed big on canvas.Mick
