I like this frank… the one over the douro is especially nice… the nice warm colours and a lovely twilight sky are complementing each other. I think it may be even better if cropped a little more – close to the line where the ripples really start. This would have the added benifit of losing the boat which doesn’t really need to be there.

I really like the first Frank :) I do agree with Mr. H, the boat on the lhs is a wee bit distracting – that said it’s a lovely scene and nothing can spoil that.
Now, why did i break into song when i saw the second shot ? :)Yes – I think you’re both right about the boats. I just thought if I cropped above them, the horizon would be right in the middle. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my tripod with me, so had to rely on litter bins to rest the camera on – didn’t always give the best viewpoints :)
