No worries JB, I agree with most of what you say, I was being more general and offering a strategic approach rather than laying down a law. I love enigmatic expressions, as you possibly know. Perhaps I should have said “Take a portrait that someone can read”, pictures say many words at many levels, as the photographer/artist, you can decide how many levels you want to go for, if any. Or another way, a picture that has the possibilities to raise an emotion. Now I’m sounding like an arty ponce :)
