    hello,

Im doing an assignment and I had to decide on a theme for my panel. I chose a kinda Film Noir theme, i had a few idead of what i wanted to do produce with what ever props and clothes i and my friends (models) could come up with. These are my final 5, i would apprieciate as much feedback or changes that anyone would like to recommend that I do in photoshop. I have done a somework on them but I have very little experience with photoshop, so as i say any reccomendations would be appriciated.

    Thanks

    Thomas

Pictures are far too big. Resize them to around 800 or 1000 on the longest side and they will b much easier to look at.

em, the big ones are all soft,
and the small ones are all posterized-
    probably due to over-compression,
though it looks too extreme for that-
Might it have been enlarged from a reduction of the big one?

    Very odd, anyway-

    They all seem nicely lit,
    from what I can see-
and I suppose they do comply with an expectation of what ‘Noir’ might be-
but ina kindof a staged, actorly kinda way-

I suppose there isn’t any real menace there, is what I’m getting at-

The biggest problem is your focus-
its very difficult to get past that-
    but they do show ambition,
and some good ideas about the lighting, and the direction of the models looks good-

So hope to see some more soon-

I must of done somthing to them while compressing the images, the focus does look odd although I have as a say been adjusting some aspects of them in photoshop and the focus is fine. A bit disasterous for my first post…….

Don’t be downhearted. We all have to start somewhere and
it doesn’t take long to get the hang of how the site works.

no not disastrous..because I did take time to scroll through and can see the compression is a huge issue here. That third one..with the couple..is one of the best thought out noir scenes I have ever seen on here. Go correct them and you have fabulous work here!

Here’s a wee helper – I hope you don’t mind. Some of these
look like great shots to me.

    ahh cheers,

I wasnt too sure about the background on the two shots with the guys on there own, can i get away with that or should i darken them down?

I don’t feel qualified to say, to be honest. I really like the
one with the seated woman and the slatted shadows, though.
