I can’t really pick photos, I guess I have too many, 3,500+ online and about 30,000+ in the computer but I like these two.
irish147Participantjb7ParticipantI don’t do sports-
but here’s one I posted here almost a year ago-For anyone who’s interested,
the next Liffey Descent is in a couple of weeks time-
the fourth biggest canoe race in the world-(there’s one more in the original post- https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=1346 )
j
irish147ParticipantWhat date is the Liffey Descent on, if the weather is sunny I’d pop up and take some images
Your images from the Liffey Descent are great, i like the last image
well done

dejosheaParticipantThe second photo is of autograss. Its a dirt oval motorsport. Lots of action, they drive cars and buggies, but can be from 1lt Mirca to 2Xhaybusa 1300cc motorbike engines inside in minis or buggies. Its just mad. Thats is less than 440kg with one haybusa at about 200bhp. He clipped a tire and throw it to the air. He also out-lapped the red one behind him before he landed!
ExpresbroParticipantSports is not something I do a lot of ..but I like this one taken at the Phoenix Park Motor Races recently. It was my first proper attempt at panning and I think I managed to convey speed and keep the car pretty sharp. Hopefully 8)
jb7ParticipantThanks Mike-
This year’s event is on September 8
more info here-irish147Participantirish147ParticipantpaddymcgrathParticipantThe first was taken on my very first outing using a DSLR, my 350D. It was my first day away from my trusty Fuji S5000, which had served me well for two seasons, I was feeling very anxious about stepping up to a DSLR. TBH, Didn’t think I could handle it, thought the Fuji was more forgiving. Guess I just learned as the day went along. This was the Semi Final on the day between Damien Mulvey in the purple Nissan 180SX and Julian Smith in the black Nissan Skyline R32. The first run saw Damien lead in, followed by Julian, I think the run was scored 6-4 or even 7-3 to Julian, meaning Damien had to pull something amazing out of the bag to knock Julian out as to stay within reach of becoming champion that year. Needless to say, Damien gave it his all, got through to the final that day, won and later on in the season became both Irish & UK Champion !
The second one isn’t sharp and its noisey but its definitely the best solo shot I’ve ever gotten. I really think you can feel how hard and fast Johnny was going in this one !
WikedMemberHas to be my best. Not often you get a chance to get something like this.
PolMacMemberI havent done sports photograpy in a long time. This shot was taken at the Fore Road Races in 1990 using a 50mm lens on a Canon T90. In 91′ I won a certificate of Merit in the Mazda Sports Photographer of the Year. FYI, the racer was Fran Morrison.
