I am only down the road from Howth. and every time I start going up the harbour it rains and its never this green or blue. but I likes them
There is a great view to be had if you walk up to the martellow tower just up to the right of your first shot here.
As Brian mentioned, they are both over saturated. There is also a cold blue cast to them as well, which may have been a result of efforts to bring out the blue of the sky, or just incorrect white balance. It’s really noticeable on the white buildings in the second shot. Tone down the saturation and fix the colour cast, and you’ve got some good images there.
brianireland: You would probably need some LSD to see it this green and blue live, it took me about 30-40 minutes of editing* (for each one) in Photoshop to make them look like this. In fact, it started raining few minutes after we returned home.
*Which is also the answer to the other guys; these photos were never supposed to look natural, that´s why I called them “postcards” – we all know that in postcards every place should look beautiful even if it´s not.
However I corrected the white balance a bit and I uploaded the new version.
