POSTPONED TO MARCH: Annual Trip to the Mournes, 2010

I have contacted the Cnocnafeola Centre (the hostel we stayed in last February). They would be able to put us up during the first weekend in February, i.e. Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February (Saturday as the main day, with accommodation on Friday for those who want/need to arrive early).

With a bit of luck we might catch some of this great weather. I was at Ott Mountain (near Spelga) today and the weather was great. Lots of walking and a few pics (will post later).

We had such a good time last year, it would be a shame to miss out on JB’s excellent Irish coffees … Rob: I have a new supply of Malt Scotch – there’s an 18 year-old that you need to try!

So, who is up for a trip to the Mournes on the weekend of 5, 6 & 7 February.

    The list so far:

Why is single cream so different in the UK?

Count me in, and I can offer one person a lift from Dublin. Unless you don’t mind sitting in the boot of the jeep, then I can take more :D

Never been there. How much would a trip like that cost anyway?
Have ye done it many years by now? :)

I think that last year the hostel charged £20 per head for B&B ([per night stayed) plus about £12 for dinner on the Saturday. – there were about 20 of us and we had the place to ourselves.

You will also need to bring – lunch/flask of coffee for the Saturday walk/outing, drink for whatever evenings you are staying, plus cash in case we make it to a pub.

You will also need to factor in travel costs.

Because our lives are so rich and complete – only double cream is an appropriate complement – so we don’t pay much attention to single cream.
