Poulnabrone Dolmen

KPMParticipant
Taken last week in Co. Clare. Weather was pretty crappy so the sky was very menacing which I think adds to the shot. Any photoshop buffs out there who would know how to get rid of the telegraph wire on the lower left side ?
Fairly happy with the shot despite the wire, was worth lying on my stomach on bog & limestone (I think !!)
Any suggestions / critiques welcome as ever.
Regards
Kevin
SwordieMemberNice shot, Kev. Just might be a bit too centred.
Very menacing sky, as you said.
A little bit of cloning will sort out that phone wire.ValentiaMemberIt looks good to me. The centering seems to work in this case. The healing tool or clone tool should fix that wire in a jiffy.
RobertoMemberDramatic shot. I don’t realy like the center position, not because the rules but I feel that the dolmen needs some more space on the front.
RobMemberI would tend to agree with Valentia in this case and say that the centering does actually work here. The sky is almost too fantastic and looks as though it has already been photoshopped to some degree – what a moment to capture. The wire only barely distracts and could easily be cloned out. Overall, good picture 8)
KPMParticipantThanks for the feedback.
Although I’m relatively happy with the shot (there were extreme circumstances – three kids screaming in the car for me to get back !!), there was something which did not feel quite right about it, whether it is the centered position, or the heavy sky I’m not so sure. I have a number of other shots taken at the same time so I will have a look through them to se if I can find a better image.
Thanks again for the tips etc.

Brian_CParticipantI think this shot works. I know it’s centred and breaks the rules of thirds. One little thing is the bit of blue sky on the right is a bit out of place. I’m sure a little bit of cloning could sort that out.
stuttterMemberexcellent shot, love the bit of white cloud coming over the top. gives it that magical feel.
One thing you might try is cropping in a little, just take a bit off either side and the bottom (maybe half the space you have at the moment).
