The last is on my opinion the best. I regret the lack of sharpness of these pictures and I think you should work on the exposure. One can say, on a dull day, that it is easier said than done but a good picture requires work.
the over exposed sky lets these photos down, go out and get your self some cokin graduated neutral density filters, they will allow you to not blow out the sky
I like 4 and 5 here Liam,
6 is good too but the fact that the tree is a lot sharper that the deer, draws the eye away from what should be the main subject.
And I agree with the others, there is big exposure difficulties with strong sun sun in front, in this type of environment.
If the sun was behind you they would have worked out much better, not that you can move it easily.
I take on board what you are saying regarding exposure, and will look into getting the filter.
Not wishing to be pedantic,
Loustalot – it wasn’t a dull day at all, sun was very strong and against me (apart from the last photo which was taken at a different time).
Pete- re the over exposed Sky: in 6 photos the sky is only visible in 1 of them.
Nonetheless I take your points regarding exposure.
TBH, these are amongst my first with a digital camera, still getting used to it. I’ll be disappointed if, having splashed more than I ever did on a film camera, that now I have to go and get extras like a filter.
