Powerscourt trees & mounds

This is a bunch of trees from the avenue leading to powerscourt which is splendid this time of year.

I need to hear a bit of feedback on this one as it is not my normal fayre and I’d be interested in your thoughts both on composition and any hints on processing. I haven’t done a great deal of processing on this one but already fear it looks a bit overdone for my taste.

Oh and btw if anyone can suggest a specimen for these trees I would appreciate it – not easy from this shot, but they are huge, deciduous, with grey bark. They have an australian feel to them but I don’t believe they are euculyptos (but am happy to be proven wrong)

Hi Gary, can’t help you much on the processing and stuff but I do know I like the shot.

There seem to be some slight halo’s around the trees? Or is that just me? Other than that it’s quite a pleasent image to look at, especially the light is very atmospheric.

Yeah slight halo on the main centre tree, but it’s a very pleasant image all the same, not overdone I’d say.

Thanks Terry, Evan & Proach for your feedback.

Yes I noticed the halo’s too. They came in very early in the raw conversion… I’m going to have to drop back to the original and try and work it more sympathetically.
