Price going up..

SeaviewParticipant
Congrats Des, I’ve heard it’s a great camera, much better than my 400d. Best of luck and nice price by the way.
Dave.
wirepicParticipantOrdered the nikon d90 from Calumet last week. Unfortunately they’re not in stock and they won’t bill my credit card until they can ship the camera. And all the time sterling is getting stronger. Cost has gone up €60 because of this already. I wonder if I pleaded with them would they bill my credit card now :D
BMParticipantMarieCParticipantHi Des,
Glad your trip was worthwhile and indeed Ikea….no trip up north is complete without it! Oh and how I miss Sainsburys….well certain food they sell that I cannot get anywhere else!
Enjoy the new camera :)
MariedeborahParticipantMarieCParticipantHopefully it will arrive early tomorrow :) …mine should have been posted today. Would appreciate you letting me know what courier delivers yours to you as some of them can never find our house.
MariedeborahParticipantHope you don’t have the same courier company – they cann’t find my house…………….I live off a main road with a big sign post at the road junction. You cannot miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!After complaining how 48hr delivery will now have taken the guts of a week. They have refunded the delivery cost. Here’s hoping it turns up tomorrow………….
BrickerParticipantMarieCParticipantLol oh dear Deborah if they cannot find your house they will never find mine, I live up a vague turn only noted by a very small quarry!!!! Although despite yesterday being told that my order was off to the warehouse for dispatched having checked the stock. I got an email from somebody else today telling me that my item is not in stock and I can place a backorder with them if I wish!?!?!?! Looks like I will be ringing them tomorrow to find out what is going on at all! Not a great first experience with warehouseexpress!
Do let me know who delivers your item in the end….if it is TNT there is absolutely no hope of them ever finding me :)
Des over the counter looks better everyday :)
MarieP.S. Well done on getting your delivery back….if you ever get your camera that is a result :)
BrickerParticipantIf either of you end up with DHL you can always let me know, you can PM me directions & I’ll make sure it reaches the courier…….
joe_elwayParticipantJaysus I hate couriers. I’ve had DHL drop something off at a factory 2 miles from the house cos they didn’t know where to go and were too lazy to call for directions. I’ve had FedEx ship stuff back to the USA cos they kept trying to deliver to my house when I was at work and they wouldn’t leave a notice to say they’d called. And another (DHL I think) who just delivered to a random house in my estate (other side, wrong number and unsimilar street name). I try to stay with vendors who send by normal post these days.
PixelleMemberUPS delivered something to me, that is, they abandoned it on a neighbour’s back doorstep. [Got it oin the end, though.]
deborahParticipantThis the crowd are local to Cork and got a no for them (I’ve never heard of them before). When I rang to give exact directions to the house the person on the phone told me give it to the delivery guy tomorrow (now today). Extremely unfriendly and not that helpful. Seems Warehouseesxpress don’t give a contact phone no to the couriers hence – if the courier cann’t find you (even if you live on a main road………) they contact Warehouseexpress (but not by phone) and things sit in depots! However being as annoyed as hell after proving my address for delivery (SAGA) and the fact that 48hr delivery has now taken a week – I complained and they guy on the phone agreed to refund the delivery cost. Don’t think they’ll want me to order again from them. Must check my credit card – for the refund! Here’s hoping it turns up today. I order from the states/other UK places regularly and I’ve never had an issue with delivery!! And DHL/UPS have found my house………..even if it doesn’t have a no!
MarieCParticipantWith us it all depends on whether the courier gets a number or not…I did leave specific instructions with warehouse express at ordering stage that the courier would need a phone number and extra directions given. DHL in fairness have always been ok with us as has UPS, we had a DPD driver deliver our parcel to somebody in Kildare….I guess Co. Clare on the address meant nothing and TNT just never found us….had to have it redirected to work and even then the fella just wrote down the street name and tried to deliver it to two other places before my 5th phone call got him to come to the right place!!!!
For the price of delivery it really should not be the issue you are having deborah, I hope it turns up today and well packaged.
My order should be shipped today so I guess that means I should have it Friday?!?!

I can sympathise Deborah. I have found in the past (I live in a hard to find place too) that if there is a delivery problem, the lesser of two evils is to collect the package
from the depot. You shouln’t have to do this, but it’s the practical solution. Good Luck!
