I am in the process of trying to get a business off the ground.
I have ordered business cards and was waiting for them before I started to look at packages however I got enquiry about a location shoot for a family or maybe two famlies.
I would probably shoot for between 1-2 hours however I have no real idea what to charge for this.
So 1, what should me base price be?
Should I include as part of the package 4 or 5 images maybe 1 10*8 and 4 *4 images?
Any simple ideas or pointers would be a great help.
I don’t want to out price myself but I don’t want to go down the road of spending my time going places taking shots, reviewing, editing, completing and when I add up the time realise I am getting paid 10 euro an hour.
Thanks in advance.
if you do some searching on here you will find other pros have helped out with ideas of pricing
BUT
If you have no idea now about cost, and you are setting up a business, it seems like you have not done anyform of research. so how do you know there is a market or that you can earn a living???
stcstc I hear you and your right…all that was to come, I was just trying out cards to see what they looked like…
As stated this request has come a little out of the blue and ahead of schedule so I hadn’t got to the point where I sit down and work out packages and such. I was never intending to quit the day job and run with photography it was just the first step.
I just put this up in the hope that I could get the lady a quick reply so I’ll just try and come up with a package.
As I’m not quiting my full time job if there is no market well I’m only down a few quid – well a good few quid.
I don’t want to turn it down just cause its a little early for my business.
I’ll dig on the web today, it was just in the off chance I put this up so I could have got back to her yesterday.
