Print Scanning

I have some prints from college that i scan in using a Dell Scanner, its basic enough.

The colour of them way off from what they should be…it looks more sepia toned.. Is it really just the scanner quality or must i set the scanner to be aware that its scanning in a print. Or is that just normal and something you pop into photoshop to fix later?

heres an example. Obviousley i added the watermark and border a while ago but i havent altered the colour in this FYI.

Surprised noone gave you any advice, sorry didn’t see this post

I have only started in the dark room recently but do try to scan in my prints as best I can. I have found that you generally always have to bring them into something like photoshop to push back up the contrast a bit more and possibly remove any colour casts. I normally just hold the print up beside the screen and keep fiddling with PS till I get something fairly close (curves, levels, shadow/highlights and colour balance I find most useful). Nothing beats looking at a real darkroom print though, you will never get it to look as good on a computer screen…
