Printed photo recovery

Hi there, I’m wondering if anyone can help me or give me some advice. I printed some photos on high quality photo paper that was given to me of which I had little and was surprised that my temperamental printer decided to actually print really well. I was stupid enough to leave these photos on a table beside food counter where food was cooked and the photos got a nice layer of grease on them :(

I was wondering if there is any way to remove this, wipe it off or whatever without damaging the photos or having to reprint them?

    Any responses much appreciated!

    Hi Bex,

I’m sorry to see you got no replies to your question.

I have no claim to expertise in this area but I have a strong
feeling that a reprint would be required.

Of course in that case you have nothing to lose by trying to wipe
the offending grease off the prints.

I would be very surprised if it can be removed without harming the paper in some way.

Anyway I just thought you deserved some sort of reply.

    Good luck.

    John.

    Hi Bex.
I’ve removed some small greasy marks from prints in the past by careful use of washing up liquid & warm (not hot) water. I allowed the prints to drip dry naturally after a good rinse (Making sure not to touch the surface). They were not printed on high quality paper though, so I can’t be sure if this would work for you.
