Problem with my Sigma DG super

I use a cannon D20 but the flash doesent seem to work in the FP mode… I have all the relavent settings on the camera but soon as i press the shutter speed the FP symbol on the flash goes out plus i dont get any H next to the flash symbol in my viewfinder… anybody had any of the same problems with any infomation on what i should do to fix it.[/b]
